Planes, Trains and Automobiles

We made our first trip back to Missouri with V a few weeks ago.  It was a week full of Vivian meeting many family members for the first time, swimming, a 10 year high school reunion, celebrating V's 5 month Birthday and her Dad's 30th Birthday and traveling by plane, train AND automobile.

Leaving Denver by Plane.

Modeling her Nonnie's latest crochet project.

Meeting her Great Granny

Modeling yet another project of Nonnie's :)  She's a lucky girl to have a Grandma that keeps her stylish.

Celebrating Adam's 30th

Being such a good girl can really wear you out!

Seeing some of my favorite girls!  It was a much needed reunion and I'm so glad I got to catch up with them!

Meeting her Great Papa for the first time!  Of course he made her all smiles :)

Her first time at one of Mama's favorite places- the Lake!

Vivian's first time swimming!

Her Grandpa Greg caught a fish with his bare hand!  So impressive!

Hanging out with her Great Mema on the dock

She was NOT impressed by this infant life jacket.

She found plenty of time to sleep on the boat ride.

Morning view from one of my favorite spots.

Still hates the life jacket.

With two of Vivian's Uncles and her Grandpa Greg
(I can just read her mind..."I wonder if I'll ever be as tan as my Grandpa Greg?")

First time in the pool!

Hanging out with her Nonnie at the pool on the 4th of July.....and her 5 month Birthday!

Loves her Uncle Hunter

She's a little flushed from the over 100 degree weather...but had to get her PJ's on for her first train trip! I couldn't help but think of the little kids in the Polar Express with their footed PJ's on...maybe I was just wishing for cooler weather :)

Vivian: "Dad did you see these curtains?!  This train is so crazy!"  On the train back to Denver!

We had such a wonderful visit with friends and family.  Vivian loved meeting all the new people and of course the dogs.  She L.O.V.E.S. watching any and all dogs, especially the little ones that wiggle when they are excited to see her.

Until next time Missouri!  We'll miss you!

Bringing it back to 1982

My husband, Adam, celebrated his 30th Birthday on July 2nd.  We kicked off this major milestone by bringing it back to the year of his birth- 1982!  We rented a pedal hopper, got decked out in 80's garb and took a ride around the Uptown neighborhood of Denver.
My inspiration for the 80's theme:

The surprised Birthday Boy in his look-a-like outfit (he didn't know about the 80's theme):

Our transportation

I had to make sure we had a picture of the Birthday Boy on board!

80's favors: included all kinds of 80's candy (ring pops, cry baby's, candy buttons, pop rocks and airheads) and 80's shades.  We also made an 80's cocktail for the group: Sprite, grape vodka and lemonade.

The whole crew ready to take off in the pedal hopper!

Who doesn't love Pop Rocks?!

Looks like he enjoyed himself!

Adam voted these two the best dressed of the group.  Steph was a trooper and wore leg warmers on this 100 degree day and JB...well it's pretty obvious that he went all out.  The most impressive part is he didn't take the wig off until we got back to our house and the party was over.

And he wore makeup

Party Pics!!!!
(P.S. Do you recognize the glasses around my neck?)

The two newly engaged couples.....awwwwww :)

Fun birthday cake in Adam's favorite flavor- red velvet!

We had an amazing time and are so lucky to have such wonderful friends to celebrate with!

(Side note:  If you want to plan a theme party, 80s is pretty easy these days with the latest styles including anything highlighter colored, acid washed, and fringed.)

Five Months

The month of June marked Vivian's fifth month.  She spent most of this month hanging out with her Grandma and Grandpa Clapp, who were able to stay nearby for the entire month!  Also she made her first trip back to Missouri, which will need a post all it's own.  This month also included her first jean shorts and jean skirt, first museum- to get a break from the heat, meeting Auntie Heather (one of my besties), becoming a master roller, toe touches, eating her toes, jumping in her jumperoo and her first swim.

Her favorite sleep position
Still trying any way she can to get our attention- need to dedicate a post to this gal soon.

Such a happy girl at the Museum
Futuristic Lego Denver....someone looks bored

Love this big smile- she's such a flirt!
Are we getting tired of Vivian posts?  Obviously she's taken over our lives and I'm still working to get back into my hobbies, but it's hard to spend any more time away from Miss V than I have to.  I just can't get enough!
